Getting Comfy by AlefGP

26 April 2014

A lovely picture drawn by Alef as part of a drawing stream. Sems like this sabrecat is ready for a big old cat nap. A very big cat nap at that. The little villages down there are looking pretty intact, they had probably best relocate, or it'll be breakfast in bed for Fang in the morning!

Bully Bullying Bullies by Eclipsis

09 April 2014

A tiny (No really, Eclipsis draws things super small!) little commission from Eclipsis. I asked for a gigamacro Fang and her paws vs a smaller Vapour and Mawie and this is what he came back with. I absolutely love how it came out. I'm not sure how Fang got to present day, but it's going to cause a whole lot of problems, more immediately for Vapour and Mawie!

The Prowling Grounds

27 March 2014

Fang keeps on finding these little villages popping up! You'd think they'ed have learned by now, but it seems not.

Carving the Countryside

30 January 2014

Oh dear, looks like Fang's found some more macros hunting in her territory! I can't see it ending all too well for them!

But yeah, just a little sketch to practice hands.

On The Prowl by AlefGP

22 January 2014

My personal favourite of the entire set. Fang's watching hungrily as she spies a megamacro chasing up a bunch of smaller (but still really big!) macros. I think they're all in for a REALLY nasty shock in 3.. 2.. 1...

Sleeping Big by AlefGP

22 January 2014

Fang isn't always eating smaller folks, sometimes she needs to sleep it off in between hunting. So here she is snoozing it off on a big open plain.

Extra Large Lunch by AlefGP

22 January 2014

It looks like this set of smaller macros are in for a bit of a bad day! You would have thought they would have noticed Fang prowling up behind them, but this megamacro sabrekitten is just THAT sneaky. This is the first of the set of three.

The Lazy Huntress by AlefGP

11 January 2014

The second coloured picture by Alef, this time a picture of Fang which I'd been wanting to colour for a very long time, just hadn't got around to it. Once again true to Alef's colouring abilities he did an amazing job with Fang here, getting on all the little details that were in the sketch.

Prehistoric Pawshot

29 December 2013

See most of you might have expected fireworks and explosions from a picture posted on New Years Eve. Nope, with me you get something that would have looked more fitting at the end of October!

This is another view that you probably wouldn't want to find yourself in! The good news is, she's not likely to crush. The bad news is, the reason for that is because that would be a terrible waste of perfectly good food.

Through the Eyes of the Huntress

06 October 2013

Fang twitched her sensitive ears as they picked up the sounds of destruction on the horizon. The sound of various creatures indicated that something was happening and this could only mean one thing - food. Grinning, the colossal Smilodon powered over the landscape to investigate finding a few smaller rival macros terrorising tribes in her territory. With a hungry grin, she quickly got work!

So this one won the poll, and I'm quite glad it did, I've been wanting to colour this one since I drew it. The theme for this picture ended up being "Brown".

And you thought the last picture of Fang was a troublesome view! This is another view that you probably wouldn't want to find yourself in! The good news is, she's not likely to crush. The bad news is, the reason for that is because that would be a terrible waste of perfectly good food.

A fun picture I've been wanting to draw for quite some time. A view from Fang's perspective as she looms over the landscape! Seems she's caught herself a marowak again!

Planketkini by Captain_Q

09 August 2013

A rather silly commission from Captain Q, based upon Pawsing Time. In Pawsing time, Okamitsune was wearing a different costume depending on the era she was in. So in the prehistoric picture, she was wearing rags with teeth necklaces and such. In the futuristic era she was wearing futuristic clothing. Myself and VDO were joking about "What would she wear in the Precambrian Era". And thus the planet-kini was born, as there sure as heck ain't anything else to wear.

Passing this idea on to Captain Q, he took the idea of planet islands, cameos, and Okamitsune in space to extreme levels, bringing Fang, Kiya, Vapour, Mawie and Pamela along for the ride too!

Let Sleeping Smilodons Lie by Captain_Q

02 August 2013

A lovely picture of Fang snoozing on the countryside, overlooking a canyon (which may or may not have been caused by her claws last time she was super-gigantic!). I really like how this one came out, for a quick sketch it's very serene. It's really nice to see her Fang in her more peaceful moments.

Tribal Lunch

09 July 2013

Fang smirked to herself as she saw the bright flickering shine of the flames against the dark night and the bellows of smoke pouring upwards, masking out the specks of distant stars in night sky - it could only mean one thing. Within a few strides she was already looming over the tiny primitive village, placing a large hand over the flickering fire, feeling its warmth she moved in even closer - sometimes it felt like these tribes wanted to be her midnight snack.

-----
They should really learn not to advertise themselves like that. A fire in the darkness of night is practically a giant sign that says "Eat me" to Fang! This is further experimentation with colours and lighting.

A Mountainous Trail

06 July 2013

The colossal smilodon thundered onwards, the ground rumbling violently with every footfall as she powered over mountains and vast valleys as if they weren't even there. Lesser rival macros could only look up in awe as they themselves loomed over tribes of cavemen. There might have been mountains in her path, but many crevices and valleys in her wake.

-----
Delighted with how this one turned out. What started as a rough sketch, turned into a picture that I really wanted to see coloured. Then I decided to use the opportunity to play with creating dramatic skies and backlighting, and it seemed to work pretty well.

Pawsing Time

28 June 2013

Heya Sunny-fans! Welcome to another exciting bit of growth by yours truly! As you may or may not have figured out by now, depending on your current/initial/theoretical era, chronology has gotten a bit mixed up. That'd be because I sorta kinda slightly outgrew it, heh. The SPECIFIC results of what happens when the awesomest wolfox ever outgrows time are, uh, kind of hard to explain to creatures who can't already time travel at-will. So, what you've been seeing is more of an approximation on a level YOU can understand. All moments in history simultaneously end up getting smooshed together to make more room for my perfect little pawsies, giving me more room to grow, and grow, and GROW, and- well, you get the idea! Oooh, and, speaking of growing- thanks for all the faves, comments, and views! The attention has been feeding my growth, letting me expand faster, and faster, and FASTER, and- well, you know! So, just keep an eye on the nearest weak point in space/time, as my magnificent toes will be bursting through before you even know it! And they're only gonna keep on shoving through more as they get bigger, and bigger, and BIGGER, and- well, BIGGER!!

-----
And here we are, with Okamitsune warping and bending time and bringing many many timezones and alternate Earths together with her paws! You know you're getting pretty big when you're outgrowing time!

The challenge now is to try and work out which of the planets the inserts are views from!

Prowling Prehistoric Plateaus

Here we have a relatively quick sketch of Fang demonstrating how no geographical boundaries will stop her from finding whatever it is she's looking for, Which in this case seems to be the main ingredients for cavemen soup.

Intimidation by Eclipsis

15 June 2013

An absolutely outstanding commission from Eclipsis that is this quite possibly the most detailed commission I've ever received. Eclipsis did an amazing job rendering fang in a complicated post, looming over the landscape, with the tiny hints of primitive civilisation right below her clawtips. I always tend to expect great things from an artist as good as Eclipsis, but this absolutely blew my expectations out of the water. Especially as it came with a few bonus sketches kindly drawn by Eclipsis too.

It has to be said though - those tribesmen in that village there had best enjoy the view, as I have a feeling their day is about to get a little bit worse!

Pawsing Time III - Pleistocene

04 June 2013

Fang gawked upward at the black wall. It had been countless seasons since she'd met anything as big as one of her own fangs... And she couldn't even remember the last time she wasn't more than twice as tall as everything in sight, from food to mountains. And yet, here was an endless dark surface stretching too far for her eyes to see the edge of, warm to the touch and even softer than her own fur! When she tried to press her hand against it, she could even feel it pressing back, growing bigger and bigger and bigger so powerfully that it was physically pushing her away!

To her right, the wall vanished into a green mountain that stretched out into deep space. But to her left...

A grinning muzzle wide enough to eat entire planets by the hundreds.
A chest full enough to feed every cub ever born with a single drop.
And a necklace of pristine fangs so stunning, so huge, so sharp, that it couldn't possibly be real.

Whoever this incredible creature effortlessly carrying the entire world between her toes was, she was definitely the biggest deal Fang had ever seen. The smilodon took firm hold of the nearest fur strand on the wall and started to climb.

------

Third insert and we're brought into the Pleistocene somewhere between 2,588,000 and 11,700 years ago, where the megafauna seem to be a lot bigger than usual. Fang here seems a little confused as to what the wall of fur is all about though.

One of my favourite pictures from the series though, really happy with how it came out. Oh, and looks like Fang found a "tiny" megamacro there too.

Okamitsune belongs to, and short descriptive story belongs to VDO [Link]

Tribal Lunch

03 March 2013

Oh dear, when will these tribes learn? If you're going to set up a settlement, don't build it in the hunting ground of the megamacro Smilodon Fatalis! I guess in their defense, Fang's hunting ground is actually pretty much wherever there's tribal settlements.. or mammoths, or macrodons..

Either way, this was a fun picture to draw. I quite like close ups of characters like this, gives a really good sense of scale.

Fishing by LionsInCaffeine

25 February 2013

A commission from LionsInCaffeine on Fur Affinity. I basically give her full control over what she was drawing. And it looks like Fang's caught herself a carcharodon megalodon!
